The drone (multicopter) & Robocon transmitter has both sticks return to the center using springs. The throttle stick position is not maintained without release, as is the case with helicopters and airplanes.

The default setting is Mode 1 (right throttle). You can easily change the software settings to Mode 2 (left throttle), as well as Modes 3 and 4.
