Product Introduction
This is a Roden 1/144 scale US Military Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker aerial refueling tanker plastic model.
The KC-135 is a tanker aircraft developed by Boeing in 1956.
It shares many components with the contemporary 707 passenger aircraft.
The refueling system is a flying boom mounted under the fuselage, with the refueling operator seated at the rear of the fuselage and operated from a prone position.
It can also be used as a transport aircraft, with a maximum payload capacity of 38 tons.
The R model is a modernized version that has undergone extensive modifications, including a CFM-56 fanjet engine, avionics modernization, and system upgrades, significantly extending the aircraft's lifespan.
The next-generation tanker, the KC-46A, has been adopted, but due to the impossibility of procuring sufficient quantities, it remains in service for the time being.
