Product Introduction

This is the Roden "1/144 U.S. Air Force Douglas AC-47D Spooky Gunship" plastic model kit.

The AC-47D Spooky was the first gunship based on the famous C-47 Skytrain. Gunships were specialized aircraft designed to sweep a specific area while circling during air superiority situations. Because they carried a large amount of weapons and ammunition, they were based on transport aircraft. The success of the Spooky led to the development of various modern gunships. Approximately 60 Spookys were modified and highly acclaimed in combat. After the withdrawal of U.S. forces, they continued to serve in Thailand and Laos until the early 1970s.

Clear parts and decals are included.
