[Product Description]

Akagi (Toxicodendron vernicifluum) from Ogasawara Islands (Ogasawara Archipelago) is a perennial evergreen broadleaf tree of the Anacardiaceae family. The Ogasawara Islands have been recognized for their unique evolution of endemic species and their ecosystems, which hold global ecological value, and were registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 2011. However, the proliferation of Akagi, introduced pre-war for firewood and charcoal, threatens native species and biodiversity. Through the effective utilization of Akagi, we aim to promote forest regeneration, ecosystem protection and restoration, and contribute to SDGs.
