The tape is quite strong, but if the thorn is sharp, it breaks through. A nail is harder to break through. In general, as additional protection will go. And if you want a good bike tire with puncture protection, then I recommend the schwalbe land cruiser plus p-guard 5. It is expensive, but worth it. I bought these myself and have no regrets.
Already ordered the second set, now for the road bike. Really helps with breakouts
During the entire cycling season there was not a single tire puncture.
