During the first washes I took some out of the sieve. They didn't stain after that, but there was still significantly less hair or other stuff on my laundry. Works much better than lint balls. Especially since the sieve is much easier to clean. And it is quiet in the washing machine, very pleasant. Will recommend it. Thanks (:
