In collaboration with Gibson Custom and the Hendrix family, Epiphone will release a reproduction model of the Jimi Hendrix “Love Drops” Flying V, a guitar frequently used by Jimi from 1967 to 1969, from the Inspired by Gibson Custom series. Originally finished in a sunburst finish, the guitar was refinished to ebony and featured psychedelic graphics hand-painted by Jimi Hendrix himself. With this release, that design has been faithfully reproduced. The Jimi Hendrix “Love Drops” Flying V features a one-piece neck with a round C profile, a laurel fingerboard, and 22 medium jumbo frets. The back of the 1967-style Flying V headstock features the “Inspired By Gibson Custom” logo. It has Jimi's signature on it. Equipped with Epiphone deluxe tuner, Short Maestro Vibrola. In the electronics section, a Gibson Custombucker humbucker pickup is wired to a CTS potentiometer, a Mallory tone capacitor, a Switchcraft 3-way pickup select switch, and a 1/4-inch output jack. An Epiphone hardshell case with "Inspired by Gibson Custom" and "Authentic Hendrix" logos is also included.
