The Rough Guide Lullaby series has been well received. To date, two works have been released, "Lullabies of the World..." (Rice WNR-252) and "Lullabies of Africa..." (Sanviña Import), and the third installment has been announced!

The theme chosen this time is "Celtic." It is said that the Celts originally expanded their sphere of influence throughout Europe and laid the foundations of European culture. However, they were gradually pushed to the periphery of Europe by other ethnic groups. Their descendants have spread their culture to Ireland and Scotland, the current UK, as well as to Brittany in France and Galicia in Spain. Many immigrants from the Celtic regions of the UK have also immigrated to North America, where they have developed their own unique Celtic music.

This work features Celtic artists from various places singing and playing lullabies that have been passed down in their region. This may be the most tranquil of all the lullaby series released so far. The bonus CD is a collection of lullabies played on the Irish harp. No matter where you start listening to it, it's sure to put you to sleep well...
