Saccharomyces boulardii is a non-pathogenic, non-sessile baker’s yeast species closely related to brewer’s yeast, known as Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It is not related to Candida species (e.g. Candida albicans, Tropics) that can cause pathogenic infections in the gastrointestinal (GI) and urogenital tracts. Saccharomyces boulardii is a unique probiotic that survives stomach acid, is not adversely affected or inhibited by antibiotics, and does not alter or adversely affect the normal intestinal flora. Therefore, ‘beneficial’ probiotic microorganisms such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium can be taken concurrently with Saccharomyces boulardii. Directions for use: Take 1 capsule daily with lukewarm water between meals or on an empty stomach, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
