PlantMate (Ilex Paraguariensis) is an evergreen plant in the holly family (Aquifoliidae). The plant can grow to 10–12 m (33–40 ft) tall, but is usually cut down to about 4–6 m (15–20 ft). The plant produces small flowers and fruits, but only the unique oval-shaped leaves and stems are processed. Mate Composition Mate contains vitamins (vitamins A, B1, B2, C, and E), mineral salts, 15 amino acids, and a large amount of antioxidants. 1 The chemical composition also includes alkaloids such as caffeine.
