Some beads are indeed porcelain. The large green one is plastic. The inserts between the beads are poor quality plastic with a strange gold-like coloring. I seem to be happy with the beads, but I expected something slightly different. Disappointment is present. I gave five stars so they wouldn't be "stuck" in the back rows)
