Since his debut in the weekly "Comic Morning" magazine in 1986, he has continued to draw lyrical science fiction manga for adults with a meticulous and delicate style, earning him enduring popularity. He also has close ties with Hideaki Anno and other members of the former Gainax. ■What is "Spirit of Wonder"? "Spirit of Wonder" (published by Kodansha) is a collection of science fiction short stories that is a gem among Tsuruta Kenji's works.
