Its scale is different from the Do-Re-Mi scale (Western scale). Each instrument is carefully handcrafted, going through numerous processes, from harvesting the bamboo (female bamboo) to removing oil, drying, making the pipes, and tuning. By making the mouthpiece and finger holes smaller and using slender bamboo, this flute is easy to produce a high, clear tone even for beginners. Please note that as each flute is made from natural bamboo, the color and pattern of the body will vary from flute to flute. There may be some color unevenness on the body. The Shinobue "Tenhiragi" is a transverse bamboo flute used in festivals, kagura, lion dances, and other performances. The smaller mouthpiece and finger holes, combined with the use of slender bamboo, make it easy for even beginners to produce a high, clear tone. Each flute is carefully crafted by hand, from harvesting the Shinobuke (female bamboo) to de-oiling, drying, shaping, and tuning.
