Product Introduction
This is a 1/144 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Shinden, a local fighter aircraft prototyped by the Imperial Japanese Navy toward the end of World War II.
Although it was only a prototype, the Shinden boasted a highly popular design (a canard-type design with the engine located at the rear of the fuselage) that was significantly different from existing fighter aircraft.
It also appeared in a popular monster movie released in 2023, earning worldwide acclaim for its exceptional performance as a prototype.
Research and development of the actual aircraft began in 1943 at the Naval Air Technical Arsenal as a high-speed fighter with performance surpassing that of the Zero fighter.
The aircraft had a canard-type fuselage, was armed with four 30mm cannons in the nose, and was powered by a Mitsubishi Ha-43-42 engine in the rear, achieving a top speed of 740 km/h. It was specifically designed to intercept B-29 bombers attacking the Japanese mainland.
The first prototype was completed by Kyushu Aircraft in June 1945 and made its maiden flight in August, but the war ended without it being mass-produced.
This model not only features the first prototype, but also fictional markings of the 343rd Air Group's "Sword Unit," which fought in the air defense of the Japanese mainland until the end of the war, as if deployed in combat.
Bring the Shinden, which never reached the prototype stage, into action with your own hands.
Reproduce the Shinden, a local fighter, in 1/144 scale.
The kit, manufactured by E-Toys, is easy to assemble and includes two aircraft.

The fictional markings are an original design inspired by the Sword Unit.
