KATO N Gauge 381 Series Shinano JR Specification 3-Car Add-On Set, Model Train, 10-2038

This product recreates a train belonging to the Jinryou Electric Railway Depot from 1993 onwards, when bogies and underfloor equipment were turned gray, side JR markings were made smaller, and front through-hole doors were permanently installed. Kuro 381-0 reproduces the side doors positioned closer to the driver's cab, a single front through-hole door, and the distinctive front through-hole door, which are unique to mid-range modified cars. KuHa 381-12 from the basic set reproduces the early cars with a single front window wiper. The intermediate coupling section uses a body-mounted close-coupling coupler without a hook. The front section is equipped with a dummy coupler, and a coupling coupler and skirt are included. The lavatory skylight is reproduced in white only on KuHa 381, and transparent on all others. The H-rubber color is black for the side door windows on all cars, and the front nickname display and side direction signs are gray. It is equipped with KATO's unique car body pendulum mechanism that reproduces the car body leaning inward when passing through curves, just like the real thing. Headlights, taillights, and nickname display lights up (white LEDs). Each leading car has a switch to turn them off. The nickname display uses a convertible train mark. Includes "Shinano (illustration)," "Shupuru Tsugaike-Happo," "Inaji," and "Special." The cars from the add-on set can be stored in the bookcase of the basic set. A full 9-car formation can be stored in one case.
