The exterior gusseted flap pocket serves as a coin purse and is designed to hold approximately one 500 yen coin, five 100 yen coins, two 50 yen coins, two 10 yen coins, two 5 yen coins, and five 1 yen coins. Opening the main body reveals a central card pocket that can hold up to six cards. The pocket is soft and spacious, but the leather will conform to the shape of the card as you insert it. The space behind the card slots can hold approximately 10 straightened bills. The edges of the bills are tucked under the leather at the top of the card slot. This leather is made from cow kip that has been carefully tanned with tannins, then under-dyed at a dyeing and processing plant in Sumida Ward and then embossed with a flower pattern. Skilled artisans then hand-spray the dye onto the leather, then apply white paraffin in a process called "atamahari" to create a three-dimensional effect on the embossed pattern. With use, the leather will develop a glossy finish, and you can enjoy the aging process as the color deepens. Because the leather is dyed and processed by hand, not by machine, each piece is unique, and this is what makes it unique.
