Leiji Matsumoto's Universe Harlock Yamato 999 (Reprinted Masterpiece Manga Series)

This publication commemorates Leiji Matsumoto's 60th anniversary as a manga artist. This year, a slew of events are planned, including the commemorative exhibition "The Magnificent Universe of Matsumoto Manga," which will be held at the Wakamatsu Museum of Art in Ginza from April to December. Matsumoto's manga features Maetel and Emeraldas, twin daughters of the protagonist of "Queen Millennium." Maetel appears alongside Tetsuro Hoshino in "Galaxy Express 999," while Emeraldas plays the role of "Space Pirate Queen Emeraldas" and marries Harlock's best friend, Tochiro, in "Space Pirate Captain Harlock." There's also a scene in "Space Battleship Yamato" that suggests Harlock might be Susumu Kodai's older brother, Mamoru. Matsumoto's manga is connected as one vast universe. This collection of short stories offers a glimpse into this vast universe.
