Fine Molds 1/72 Scale Japanese Navy 18th Experimental Land Reconnaissance Plane, Trial Keiun, Plastic Model Kit FP23

The prototype Keiun was a Navy land-based reconnaissance aircraft developed toward the end of the war for high-speed long-distance advances into enemy territory and high-altitude reconnaissance. To achieve high speeds, the aircraft featured a unique configuration: two liquid-cooled engines mounted parallel to the center of the fuselage, with an extended shaft driving a six-bladed propeller in the nose. Plans aimed for a speed of 740 km/h, but development ran into difficulties, and only a few test flights were conducted beginning in May 1945 before the end of the war.
