[Shigaraki Ware] Shigaraki ware is a type of ceramic ware that has been passed down to the present day through traditional techniques, supported by a long history and culture. One of its defining features is the rough surface and the inclusion of many fine stone grains. With the rise of the tea ceremony, it has become highly prized as tea utensils. While retaining the distinctive "wabi" and "sabi" aesthetic of Shigaraki ware, technological developments have been made to meet demand for ease of processing, leading to the continued production of pottery rooted in everyday life to this day.
