The PRX-8001YT is part of the "MANASLU" series, named after the 8,163m-high Himalayan mountain "Manaslu," also known as the "Mountain of the Spirits," which was first successfully summited by a Japanese team in 1956. The sharp design of the hands and hour markers is inspired by the sharp, snow-capped ridges of the Himalayas, resembling knife-edge ridges. The hour markers are finished with a metallic vapor deposition for a luxurious feel. The bezel is made of 64 titanium, which is harder and more scratch-resistant than standard titanium. The city code is engraved on the side of the bezel. Additionally, the distinctive snow-ripple pattern seen on snowy mountains is expressed with intricate machine engraving on the titanium bezel and glare-reducing semi-transparent printing on the entire dial. The design is inspired by the rugged scenery of snowy mountains. Real Gear "MANASLU" was born from a fateful encounter with Mr. Takeuchi, who was challenging himself to climb 8,000m peaks.
