<Story>
Reed, a genius inventor, astronaut, and scientist, discovers that a space storm believed to have had a profound impact on human evolution is approaching Earth. He consults with businessman Victor, believing that approaching the center of the storm could unlock the secrets of human genetic information and contribute to humanity. Victor sees this as an opportunity to claim credit for Reed's research and cooperates with Reed's research and experiments. The five participants are Reed's ex-girlfriend Sue, her brother Johnny, Reed's college classmate Ben, and Victor and Reed themselves. The five launch into a space station, but are caught in a raging cloud of cosmic radiation and are all exposed to it! The radiation alters their DNA, and the five become aware of the special abilities that have appeared in their bodies. Confused by their powers, they use them to save people during a random accident, drawing public attention to their powers. Before long, they're known as the "Fantastic Four."
