Inheriting the design of the original G-SHOCK "DW-5000C," the 5000 series has continued to evolve in both functionality and materials. The GMW-BZ5000 features a new generative design, co-created by humans and AI, for its structural and exterior design, based on over 40 years of G-SHOCK shock-resistance data. While retaining the rectangular form of the original G-SHOCK, the previous design, in which the bezel fully covers the center case, has been refined using a new design methodology. A newly developed structure connects the bezel and center case vertically. The complex, futuristic design visible from the case side emphasizes the beauty of the structure. A resin inner protector that absorbs shock through elastic deformation is installed inside, ensuring that the full metal construction meets G-SHOCK shock resistance standards. The stainless steel case features an airtight screw-back case. The digital display also features a high-resolution, wide-viewing-angle, and high-contrast MIP (Memory-in-Pixel) LCD. Compared to conventional LCDs, this model offers finer detail and superior visibility, even in bright outdoor conditions or direct sunlight. A new MIP LCD was developed to enable solar-powered operation. The high-resolution full-dot display, which contains memory within the pixels that make up the screen, allows you to switch between four basic time displays with the touch of a button. By linking with the app, you can also switch the main display to a classic 7-segment font. The time display layout retains the image of the original G-SHOCK, blending advanced functionality with traditional style. In terms of functionality, the watch connects to the dedicated "CASIO WATCHES" app via Bluetooth® communication to obtain time information. It also features practical features such as Multiband 6 and Tough Solar. It is manufactured at Yamagata Casio, the mother factory that created the original G-SHOCK.
