Product Introduction
This is the iLoveKit "1/48 U.S. Air Force F-22A Raptor" plastic model kit.
The F-22 was developed in the United States in the early 1980s under the Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) program as a successor to the F-15C/D air superiority fighter.
It is classified as the world's first stealth fighter, a fifth-generation jet fighter with extremely high stealth capabilities against radar and infrared detection devices. Nicknamed "Raptor," meaning bird of prey, it was nicknamed "Raptor."
A competitive prototype competition between the YF-22 and YF-23 prototypes was decided in 1986, and the YF-23 was officially adopted in 1991. The first aircraft was completed in 1997.
The U.S. Air Force initially planned to begin procurement in 1996, ultimately deploying 750 aircraft. However, due to development delays and the end of the Cold War, deployment began in 2003, and combat units did not begin operating until 2005.
The final number of aircraft equipped was 187, and including the prototype YF-22, a total of 197 were produced.
