Long panels of this precious material are carefully measured, cut, positioned, and polished by hand to create a perfectly smooth, seamless, round surface. This intensive polishing process allows the deep vibrancy and iridescence of nacre to emerge naturally, without the need for a clear coat or other finish. A shimmering array of various colors and hues can be seen shifting across the pen's body in the light.
