The T-60 light tank was a Soviet-developed light tank during World War II. The T-60 light tank was adopted in 1941 as an amphibious T-40 light tank, with its surface propulsion capabilities removed to reduce hull volume and its primary armament changed from a 12.7mm machine gun to a 20mm aviation machine gun. Designed for reconnaissance, it was unsuitable for anti-tank attacks, but served on the front lines against the German forces until vehicles like the T-34 medium tank were available.
