■XT Strings

D'Addario has been working to develop long-lasting strings that combine the natural tone and feel of uncoated strings, something that has long been considered difficult to achieve, by combining its proprietary, cutting-edge coating technology with previously developed materials like NYSteel and innovative elements like Fusion Twists.

The XT Series utilizes a proprietary coating technology to coat wound strings with high-carbon steel cores, achieving unprecedented longevity. This results in strings that boast unprecedented performance in terms of strength, pitch stability, and corrosion resistance.

The XT Series' new coating technology utilizes a proprietary new process to apply an extremely thin micro-polymer coating to all types of strings. Corrosion tests have shown that these strings have achieved even greater corrosion resistance than our previous coated EXP series strings. Despite their longer lifespan and enhanced corrosion resistance, they still have the natural sound and feel of uncoated strings.

For the EXP series, we outsourced the wire coating process to an external technical company, but for the XT series, we installed our own new coating equipment within the same facility. This allows us to complete the entire manufacturing process in-house, eliminating the need for unnecessary transportation and packaging, ensuring that freshly produced wire is coated in the best possible condition.
