The Mogami-class multi-function mine warfare frigate, designated 30FFM, is a cutting-edge escort vessel specialized for minesweeping missions against advanced mines, equipped with mine countermeasure sonar, an autonomous underwater mine detector (UUV), and a mine-clearing unmanned surface vehicle (USV).

The lead ship, Mogami, was commissioned in April 2022 and is part of the Escort Fleet Escort Division 11, based in Yokosuka.
