Product Introduction
Fine Molds 1/35 Scale Plastic Model Kit MJ01 of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force's Type 73 Light Truck with Canvas Top
The Type 73 light truck is a domestically produced, compact, general-purpose vehicle that served the Ground, Navy, and Air Self-Defense Forces. It was officially adopted by the former Defense Agency and the Self-Defense Forces in 1973 (Showa 48) and enjoyed nearly a quarter-century of service until it was replaced by a new 1/2-ton truck in 1996 (Heisei 8).
One of the vehicle's defining features was the numerous variants produced to accommodate its versatility.
This kit recreates the early model of the Type 73 light truck, which saw extensive use over a long period of time, from among the various Type 73 light trucks whose detailed specifications varied by production year.
The canvas top features a soft, hand-finished molded finish.
Markings include decals for vehicles belonging to the 3rd Tank Battalion Headquarters in Imazu, the 1st Airborne Brigade in Narashino, the Fuji Training Brigade Headquarters, and the 10th Artillery Regiment in Toyokawa, as well as individual number decals in license plate font.
