The Hokuriku Railway Group is the largest operator in the Hokuriku region, with a route network covering all of Ishikawa Prefecture. Following a group reorganization in July 2021, the group companies Komatsu Bus, Hokuriku Kotsu, Kaga Onsen Bus, and Kaga Hakusan Bus were merged and reorganized. Komatsu Bus began as Ogoya Railway in 1919 and changed its name to Komatsu Bus in 1977. Hokuriku Kotsu began operating as a charter-only operator with a fleet of 22 vehicles in 2005. Kaga Onsen Bus began operating mainly on routes in the Kaga area in 1994, and Kaga Hakusan Bus began operating in areas including Kanazawa City, Hakusan City, Komatsu City, and Nomi City in 2012. As of July 2021, Kaga Onsen Bus and Kaga Hakusan Bus will change their names to Hokutetsu Kaga Bus and Hokutetsu Hakusan Bus, respectively. Komatsu Bus's bus business will merge with Hokutetsu Kaga Bus, and Hokuriku Kotsu's bus business will merge with Hokutetsu Hakusan Bus.
