As the main force of the submarine force, they fought through the battle against Japan and were active until after the war.
Also, it was a type of ship called a “fleet class submarine,” and missions were expected to act together with the allied fleet, perform reconnaissance before a decisive battle, and report the position etc. of the enemy fleet.
