■Acala (Fudo Myo-o) - A protective deity for those born in the Year of the Rooster. Acala acts under the command of Dainichi Nyorai (Vairocana Buddha). He assumes a stern appearance to save people and burn away all obstacles and impurities. The most famous of these, Acala, is a Buddhist statue commonly seen alongside Kannon and Jizo. Acala is said to be an incarnation of Dainichi Nyorai and is affectionately called "O-Fudo-san." His ferocious face is meant to guide those who do not obey the Buddha's gentle face to the right path. The rope in his left hand protects people's peace forever and grants great blessings by enabling them to attain enlightenment.
