Synopsis

Visions of Atlantis, the Austrian band featuring Napalm Records CEO Thomas Kather (drums) and male and female vocals, has released their new album! Titled after a passage from *The Lord of the Rings*, their seventh album, *Wanderers*, reaches new heights with its dramatic, symphonic, elegant, and dynamic lyrical sound…!

Formed in Austria in 2000, Visions of Atlantis debuted in 2002 with the album *ETERNAL ENDLESS INFINITY*. This symphonic metal band has undergone countless member changes. Currently, the only remaining original member is drummer Thomas Kather. Initially formed by Thomas's close friends, it was literally an "Austrian band," but with each lineup change, talented musicians from various countries were added, eventually becoming a multinational band.

However, their dramatic, lyrical sound has remained largely unchanged since their debut. "Epic," "romantic," "mysterious," "dark," "powerful," "emotional," "intimate," "passionate," "exotic," "melodic," "poetic," "fantastic"... their sound constantly incorporates all the dramatic elements of hard rock/heavy metal. The current lineup consists of Thomas [Ds], Clémentine Delaunay [Vo], Michele Guaitri [Vo], Christian Duha [G], and Herbert Gross [B]. Clémentine, formerly of WHYZDOM and SERENITY and currently of EXIT EDEN, is from France, while Michele, who has also played in KALEDON and TEMPERANCE, is from Italy. In the past, they have also featured American and Greek singers.

Visions of Atlantis, who originally aimed to emulate Nightwish, are noteworthy for their consistent use of male and female clean vocals, avoiding excessive gothic or progressive elements, and generally sticking to a melodic hard rock/heavy metal style without relying heavily on growls or screams. While they have incorporated elements of melodic death metal and nu-metal in subsequent albums—from their second album 'CAST AWAY' (2004) to 'TRINITY' (2007), 'DELTA' (2011), 'ETHERA' (2013), and 'THE DEEP & THE DARK' (2018)—their core musical direction has remained unwavering.

Having just released their first live album, 'The Deep and the Dark Live: Symphonic Metal Nights', this February, they have already completed their latest studio album, 'Wanderers', following 'THE DEEP & THE DARK'. The title of this seventh album is taken from a line in a poem from J.R.R. Tolkien's *The Lord of the Rings*: "Not all those who wander are lost." This poem by Aragorn begins with "All that is gold does not glitter" and ends with "The crownless again shall be king"—essentially a wise saying that everyone should keep in mind: "Don't be fooled by appearances."

The latest album, *The Wanderers*, is their most melodic, noble, and elegant work to date. The Japanese edition will include two bonus tracks common to the international release, plus one additional bonus track exclusive to Japan.
