A diverse lineup of styli to meet your sound quality needs: While possessing the superior information volume and wide-band reproduction capabilities of microlinear styli, they also boast a rich sound image and powerful reproduction of mid- and low-range sounds. The large contact area between the styli and the sound groove reduces wear on the styli and extends their lifespan. The body uses a paratoroidal coil structure: The AT-VMx series features a unique power generation system called a paratoroidal coil structure. The paratoroidal structure is a unitized, seamless core, so the magnetic flux is retained within the specially wound coil. This results in improved power generation efficiency and excellent linearity. Threaded cartridge mounting holes: Compatible with integrated tone arms, which are widely used in the global Hi-Fi audio market. The new threaded holes make it easier to mount cartridges on integrated arms. Audio-Technica's flagship VM-type cartridge lineup, developed in-house, has been reborn as the "AT-VM700x/600x/500x" series ("AT-VMx" series). This marks the first renewal in nine years since 2016, and the lineup now includes a wide range of models, from high-grade models with line contact styli to standard models with elliptical and round styli. In addition to the best sound quality in the history of VM-type cartridges, ease of use has also been improved. All models now feature PCUHD (high-purity oxygen-free copper) coil conductors, delivering powerful low-frequency expression and a wide sound field. The cantilever material of the AT-VM740xML model is an aluminum tapered pipe, achieving both lighter weight and improved durability. The cartridge's threaded design also makes it easier to mount on an integrated arm. In addition, the protector has a V-shaped cutout to guide the needle tip position. The addition of a stylus tip improves visibility when dropping the needle onto the record. This product also features the AT-LT10 headshell, which can be easily attached to a universal tone arm.
