This day and night sinking and swimming pencil lure easily targets shallow areas such as rivers, surf, rocky shores, and tidal flats, as well as the area just below the surface. It casts as far as a jig, bringing distant boils that minnows can't reach within range. It's effective against various patterns including gizzard shad, migrating sweetfish, sardines, juvenile mullet, and sandfish. The action is a current-sensitive, irregular slalom action.
Operation is simple: just a slow retrieve, day or night. When using in high-pressure, competitive areas, we recommend an upstream cast rather than a down-cross cast. The key is to trace the lure as if small fish being carried downstream were appearing diagonally in front of the sea bass. Try it in a variety of fields, including surf, rocky shores, fishing ports, bays, urban rivers, estuaries, tidal flats, targeting boils, and in pinch situations.
