A two-disc album produced to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Bruckner's birth in 2024.

CD1 features performances of Bruckner's sacred works by the Bavarian Radio Choir and the Munich Radio Orchestra, conducted by Peter Dijkstra. This studio recording, made in conjunction with the season-opening concert on October 28, 2023, showcases the choir's exceptional leadership, a hallmark of Dijkstra, a leading choral conductor, and the ensemble of the Munich Radio Orchestra's wind instrument members. The album centers around the majestic Mass No. 2, and includes five motets for solo chorus and two equales for three trombones.

Bruckner's Mass No. 2 was commissioned for the dedication of the new Linz Cathedral and completed in 1866. However, due to delays in the cathedral's construction, the premiere, conducted by Bruckner himself, took place in September 1869. The work was written for eight-part mixed choir and wind ensemble, but the choir was too large for the new chapel, so it was performed outdoors to great acclaim. Bruckner later revised the work in 1882, and this revised version premiered on October 4, 1885, in the old Linz Cathedral, also achieving remarkable success. It is said that "Bruckner stood before the organ during the performance, gazed intently at the cathedral ceiling, and offered an unspoken prayer." This recording features this revised version. The accompanying motet is also a beautiful work that reflects Bruckner's experience as a choir member and organist.

CD2 features Markus van Hoefer's "The Path to Music: The World of Bruckner," which, centering on Mass No. 2, allows listeners to enjoy the story of Bruckner as a composer of sacred music through narration (German only) and music.
