Cultivate a world-class scientific mind!
A visual encyclopedia that colorfully illustrates the fundamentals of all fields of science.
Not organized by grade level, it's recommended for anyone who wants to develop their science skills out of curiosity, as well as families preparing for junior high school entrance exams.
This encyclopedia, popular in the UK where STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education is emphasized, covers all fields of science.
From living things, chemistry, and the basics of physics such as energy and force, to fundamental knowledge of the Earth and the universe, it presents the fundamentals of science that are only briefly covered in Japanese elementary schools, with colorful illustrations for every item.
It goes beyond what is taught in elementary school, gently explaining the mechanisms of familiar technologies.
The structure allows you to deepen your acquired fundamental knowledge by learning about engineering applications.
Each page's "Let's Try It" column is filled with ideas for experiments that can be done at home.
We enlisted the supervision of Ms. Chihiro Tanaka of Ochanomizu University Elementary School, who has authored and supervised numerous science books for children, to further enhance readability by aligning terminology with that used in Japanese education.
With this single book, children will acquire the scientific literacy that elementary school students in advanced science-oriented countries in Europe and America possess—a level that could be called a "world standard."
Unlike textbooks that are bound by grade levels, this book is structured by subject area, allowing children to unwind their curiosity and gradually arrive at a deep understanding.
It covers the scope of science taught in the six years of elementary school plus a little extra in an easy-to-understand way, making it perfect for families considering junior high school entrance exams.
