The birth of a "standard" earphone has emerged from research on the differences between audio sources produced in 2-channel stereo and those created using binaural technology, based on acoustical engineering, psychoacoustics, and spatial acoustics. It has been widely recognized that listening to binaurally produced audio from games and VR with conventional earphones or headphones results in a unique discomfort in the high-frequency range. Researchers in acoustics have grasped the cause of this issue, but there have not been sufficient successful solutions until now. Through a approach to address this problem, we have developed earphones that allow listeners to experience the intended timbre, spatial image, and directionality in binaurally produced audio from games and VR. The VR3000 for Gaming has achieved even higher accuracy in reproduction as a result of extensive research.
The gaming earphone "VR3000 for Gaming," focused on "spatial" expression, is developed based on research into the acoustic physical characteristics required for transducers to reproduce the intended acoustic spatial impression in immersive binaural sound playback through headphones and earphones. By accurately reproducing the "space" of games and content as intended by the creators, it enhances immersion. For example, in dark missions of FPS games, rather than highlighting the sounds of opponents, players can naturally enhance their responsiveness by immersing themselves in the game world. As a result, they can move their bodies with a tactile sense, allowing them to enter the game world with a feeling similar to that of the real world.
The completely newly designed driver unit "f-Core DU" is equipped with a design, components, and production technology that have been thoroughly reviewed. To achieve high sound quality that is unprecedented in this price range, a base was established overseas, and driver components such as the diaphragm, voice coil, magnet, magnetic circuit, and adhesives were newly designed, resulting in the development of the completely 6mm dynamic driver unit "f-Core DU." The material for the driver front housing uses brass, which is less affected by magnetic forces and has a higher specific gravity than typical aluminum. To enhance the time response performance of the diaphragm, a 30μ ultra-fine CCAW voice coil is used, and the movable parts are thoroughly lightweighted by assembling with minimal adhesive. Furthermore, the diaphragm is carefully pressed in small lots of about one-third of the usual size to minimize pressure unevenness and achieve uniform diaphragm shaping without distortion.
