In collaboration with the University of Tsukuba, we have developed a new method for measuring visceral fat, which is closely related to lifestyle-related diseases. This method involves taking 24 cross-sectional images of the entire abdomen from below the chest to above the waist using MRI (compared to the usual single CT image around the navel), allowing for a more accurate assessment of visceral fat levels on a 30-point scale. It can measure 8 items: weight, change from previous measurement, visceral fat level, BMI, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle percentage, bone mass, and basal metabolic rate.
