A Korean-language textbook that pairs drama scripts with YouTube videos for study.
"Learn Korean Through K-Dramas 1" uses short episode scripts from five K-dramas that aired between 2012 and 2019 and gained wide popularity overseas, offering a fun and efficient way to learn Korean. Its main feature is QR codes linking each script to the corresponding YouTube video, so learners can study by watching and listening to the episodes. Another feature is that the entire book includes English translations, allowing even learners with limited Korean ability to study comfortably. The right-hand page contains the Korean script and the left-hand page its English translation, making it easy for beginners to follow. Optimized for self-study, the book is produced in a compact format (150 × 200 mm) that is convenient for learners to carry.In addition, the app offers a variety of open-ended written exercises and dictation practice proven to be highly effective for language learning, making it suitable both for self-study and as course material in schools and private language institutes. It also provides explanations of Korean food, fashion, leisure culture and Korean values through the characters in the dramas, allowing learners to absorb these aspects naturally and gain a broader understanding of Korean culture as a whole.
The dramas featured in this book—You Who Come from the Star, Descendants of the Sun, Dokkaebi(Goblin), Hotel Del Luna, and Crash Landing on You—were selected with the popularity of Korean dramas on major streaming services such as Netflix in mind.
