"Kancolle Kai" is a software title that inherits the basics of the PC browser game "Kantai Collection -Kancolle-" while enhancing the strategic aspects as a simulation game and reconstructing it for PlayStation Vita. Unlike the original browser version of "Kancolle," where progress in the home port progressed over time, "Kancolle Kai" has been restructured with a turn-based system where progress is made in turns. It is also possible to "save" your game progress in the home port, a feature not present in the original version. In this game, each sea area is divided into hexagonal areas, and each fleet can move within these areas and deploy to new sea areas. In addition, while the enemy fleet's "Abyssal Fleet" did not invade in the original version, in this game, enemy counterattacks may be carried out in sea areas where forces are weak. Depending on the situation, they may even directly invade the naval base area on the mainland.
