The 302nd Squadron was established in Hokkaido, and therefore the tail fin features a design combining the white-tailed eagle, which inhabits northeastern Hokkaido, with the three characters "302" (302).

This model reproduces the special marking aircraft from 2013, featuring the largest marking among all Self-Defense Force aircraft, along with shark teeth painted on the nose.

Two pilot figures are included.

The mold design and manufacturing are by Tamiya, and the molding is done using the same molding machines that mass-produce FineMolds' Nano Aviation series.
