What is the power consumption of the doorbell in standby mode? Power consumption is minimal, on average 0.4W for all models, which translates to about 18 cents per month. How do I mount the doorbell on a fence or building wall? Due to the variety of models, the transmitter can be attached using the included double-sided tape or screws. We include special double-sided tape with every model we offer, and for models with screw mounting, we also supply screws. Yes, you must connect the additional button or receiver to your current system by following the included instructions. Will battery life make locating and purchasing them a problem? For battery-powered models, batteries need to be replaced on average every 2-3 years, depending on use. Transmitters are typically powered by 23A 12V or CR2032 batteries, which are inexpensive and readily available. A transmitter is a button that sends a signal to the receiver/plug, causing it to make a sound. Can I turn off the ringtone if my baby is sleeping or I don't want to be disturbed? Yes, all models have adjustable volume, and each ringtone can be muted using the button on the side of the receiver. Is the backlight on the button on some models always on? The backlight only turns on when you press the transmitter button. There are no wireless doorbell models available with constant backlighting due to their battery operation, which would require frequent battery replacement.
