This textbook is aimed at foreigners who want to learn the basics of the Polish language. The authors use a communicative approach, organizing individual lesson units around a specific communication situation. Learners learn basic vocabulary and phrases used, for example, when visiting a doctor, shopping at a store, at a kiosk, etc. Grammar and consolidation exercises are organized around communicative situations. The book is designed for both guided learning and independent study, as it includes translations of dialogues in seven languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Italian, and Danish, as well as a key to the exercises. The CD contains recordings of all the dialogues in Polish. Furthermore, all grammatical material is organized in tables, making it easy to resolve any doubts. The textbook is enriched with numerous illustrations, reproductions, photos, and other materials that explore elements of Polish culture and the realities of everyday life in Poland.
