This [Iwate] iron kettle features a traditional arare pattern. It can be used as an iron kettle for boiling water, a kanshin for warming sake, or a teapot. The interior is coated with a black baked finish. This special baked coating allows oxygen to permeate the iron, resulting in iron content in the boiled water. The handle can be folded down for convenient storage. It is compatible with gas stoves. Manufactured by [Iwachu] in Minamisenboku, Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture.
