This is a high-quality stereo microphone designed for camcorders, DSLR cameras, and portable audio recorders. A high-resolution 1/2-inch condenser capsule at the center of the microphone delivers broadcast-quality sound via a 3.5mm mini-jack connector (outputting a mono signal to both left and right channels). The supercardioid polar pattern minimizes ambient noise, focusing on sound sources directly in front of the camera. An innovative suspension system separates the VideoMic Pro capsule from the mounting body, eliminating external factors that could cause vibration or rattle. The lightweight, flexible, yet durable multi-strand cable establishes a high-resolution signal while minimizing noise transmission compared to conventional audio cables.

Power, filter, and level controls are located on the back of the microphone. In addition to a 40Hz-20kHz response, a high-pass filter can be set to 80Hz to prevent noise from sources such as air conditioning and traffic. Below these controls is the level control, allowing you to adjust the recording level as needed. The -10dB level attenuation function (or PAD) is suitable for recording loud sounds, such as in live performances, motorsports, or interviews, where the sound source is close to the camera. The +20dB level boost is designed for use with DSLR cameras, effectively reducing noise by lowering the camera's preamp level (microphone input level).
