This is the first-ever vinyl pressing of the original score for Studio Ghibli's 2013 film "The Wind Rises," the eleventh feature-length collaboration between director Hayao Miyazaki and composer Joe Hisaishi. Unlike many other Ghibli titles, this film had no separate image album — only a soundtrack was produced. The score was performed by the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, with distinctive use of folk instruments such as the balalaika and bayan woven throughout. The album also includes the film's famous theme song "Hikoukigumo" ("Vapor Trail"), performed by Yumi Arai (Yuming). Side C's non-playing reverse label features a laser-etched decorative design.
