After a year of recovery, he made a strong comeback. In 2017, Nike officially launched his first signature shoe, the Nike PG 1. Designer Tony Hardman drew inspiration from George's favorite basketball shoe—the Nike Zoom Crusader—and created a distinctive silhouette using clean, minimalist lines. The upper combines breathable mesh and suede for rich texture. The fish-scale pattern both the upper and outsole, along with the buoy-shaped pull tab, reflects George's greatest personal passion—fishing. Dynamic Flywire cables integrated into the upper and a large strap design deliver exceptional lockdown and stability. The midsole features Phylon foam paired with a forefoot Zoom Air unit, providing lightweight, responsive cushioning.
