Since its first release in 1991, the popular simulation RPG series "Super Robot Wars" has released over 40 titles across various gaming consoles. It features a simple system designed to be user-friendly for newcomers.

This series features numerous robot-type weapons from various anime works. This time, "Meiou Keikaku Zeorymer" and "Lazencephon" make their series debut. Additionally, "Neon Genesis Evangelion," "Mekki Senki Danguard Ace," "Gear Fighter Dendoh," and "Mobile Battleship Nadesico: The Movie" appear on PS2 for the first time. The characters and robots from these works run amok, which is a highlight of the series.

Maps are recreated in 3D polygons. New systems such as the "Multi-layer Map System," "Double Attack," and "Support Attack" are actively incorporated for the first time in the series. The story is completely original, with a concept focused on cut-ins and simplicity. The cut-in effects during battles are emphasized, and the volume as a simulation RPG is kept moderate to ensure ease of play.
