The shape, sound, and response of the Artisan model are reminiscent of early back mouthpieces. It is modeled after the 1940s and 1950s, with a specially selected throat and backbore. It has the same rim and cup as the narrow-tube 6 1/2A, but has a large throat and backbore designed for bass trombones, producing a rich, coherent, and loud sound. ■Diameter: 25.4mm ■Cup depth: MD (slightly deep) ■Rim thickness: MW (medium).
