This is a high silica compound that reduces rolling resistance and also improves wet grip.. Compared to the previous 3C MaxxSpeed, the new compound has approximately 25% less rolling resistance under laboratory conditions (when using the same tread pattern, design and tire pressure). In real-world conditions, our testing shows that the new compound can save up to a minute over a 90-minute race. EXO: - EXO is a cut and abrasion resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires.. This tightly woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring consistent tire performance. Choose EXO Protection for increased durability on gravel, cross-country and light off-road riding. Tubeless ready: - Tubeless ready tires offer a variety of benefits to the driver: the ability to drive with lower air pressure, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance compared to tube type tires; and less chance of puncture due to the absence of a tube. Tubeless ready tires are identified by the letters "TR" on the sidewall. Tubeless ready tires must be mounted on tubeless compatible rims and require the use of liquid sealant to maintain pressure.. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures.. Be sure to check the sealant regularly and renew it as needed as it dries out over time. Wide trail XC (WT XC): - Maxxis recommends using Wide Trail XC 2.40″ tires on 30mm inner rims. The tires are compatible with rims up to 25mm wide, but we do not recommend using rims wider than 30mm.
